i own a repair shop,,and the pcv valve is located on the valve cover of it,,as for the transmission hose I'm not sure what you mean on that one, that year of cougar has an electric shift solenoid on it,and does not require a hose or shift line as i think you mean,,the older ones used a modulator valve on them ,and it was sometimes called a shift line, but yours don't have one,,it has a filler tube on it,and its located toward the back of the engine on the left side if your facing the engine on it,,good luck i hope this help,s.

The PVC valve is usually located on one of the valve covers. If you are looking for the transmission hose i am not sure, but maybe you are thinking about the "dip stick" where the high or low is indicated stamped on the end of the stick--"full or "add" fluid. Check your owners manual or usually an auto parts store could possibly look at it on the stores computor.

For a 5.0L, the PCV valve is at the back of the engine in kind of a hard spot to see. The transmission dip stick tube is on the passenger side near back of the engine.

the pcv valve is on the back valve cover gasket. it looks like a little pipe and has a vacuum hose comming from it. the transmission dipstick will have a checkstick comming out of the tube. it could be black, red, or yeloow and will be on the back side of the engine if I remember correctly.

follow the rubber hose from the breather to the valve cover.
on the side of your radiator, or on bottom(some models), there are two metal lines. follow one of the lines back to the tranny.
