i really want to take dancing lessons, but i dont have a lot of money to do it. How much would a dancing instructor cost or dancing classes? I think dancing would be so much fun and a great way to stay in shape. Is there a way i can learn dancing cheaply?

I know that my city offers courses in all kinds of things. Dancing, as well as swimming, first aid, computers, painting. These are inexpensive classes!

Community colleges also offer dance courses. I didn't take a dance class, but the last course I took last year cost 30 dollars with a 70 dollar registration fee. So, 100 dollars for a 16 week course that meets three times a week. A great deal!

Good luck!

Cost of private lessons depends a lot on where you live.

Start out with group classes - they are the most efficient way for a beginner to learn. Check community colleges and local dance studios. Prices vary from $5 to $20 per group lesson.

I've taken inexpensive classes, and some free classes at:

Churches
Public Libraries (free)
Community Centers
Parks and Recreation Centers
Senior Centers
High Schools (during special events)
Community Colleges ($56.50/semester)
State University ($109.25/semester)
Arts Centers ($3-6 per session)
Dance Studios ($8-15 per session)

I've danced in all of these venues within the past five years. You might also check your local public library's collection of dance instructional videotapes and DVDs.

I hope this helps.

It all depends on where you go. If you go to a really good studio it is going to be kinda expensive. But if you go to a studio without competition classes they tend to be cheaper. But i would be careful about the cheaper studios because you get what you pay for i learned that one. The first studio i went to was around 30 dollars a month for a hour once a week and that is tap and jazz. This new studio i am going to is 88 dollars and that is for tap, jazz, and ballet which is 2 hours once a week. Good luck.

They have online dance lessons. The cost is pretty cheap compared to most classes.
