People will talk behind your back and you don't want that. White is traditionally a spring and summer look. Pittsburgh will be cool and embracing autumn in October. When in doubt about what to wear, choose black. Perhaps you could wear an all black dress, matched with a scarf containing autumn hues, black sling backs or pumps, yellow gold earrings or pearls and either black, off-black or smoke stockings?
Good luck.

The tradition that people could not wear white after Labor Day is long past. Of course, there are still some conservatives around who still support the tradition ... just ignore them.

I personally would not wear a mostly white dress that late in the year. Warmer, deeper tones would be more seasonal.
