i need this for my homework what is die cutting?

+ It is a valued job skill and title for the machine industry. Die cutters are also know as tool makers, except they make tools for specific functions in making a product. I may include stamps, cuts size pieces, punched holes, makes slots at the right places, and is will make several pieces come together at eh end product phase.(it is usually a progression so someone who is good at it must be able to envision the finale product before he starts.

dies are a sharp metal stamp. kinda looks like a cookie cutter. where I used to work, we had hydraulic cutters (aka clicker). the die would be place on top of a piece of leather then a metal block would swing over that. press the button & it would 'stamp' the shape out of the leather

if this is refering to plumbing it refers to a tool which cuts the thread on metal pipes the tool being stock & dies
