Excluding documentaries, which paranormal shows, past and present, come the closest to being accurate about paranormal subjects, as well as being entertaining, to those of you learned in the paranormal and myths and folklore?

To the second person to answer. Thank you, but I categorize Ghost Hunters as a documentary. But I would accept docudramas, but ones more towards the dramatic.

I am, and always will be, a huge huge X-Files nerd. The show was well-researched, and actually helped jumpstart my interest in the subjects therein (I'm now working on a master's in mythology and folklore). It was smart, it was funny, and never failed to entertain. (For the first five or six years, anyway.)

I don't classify Buffy or Charmed or anything like them as paranormal, and I haven't had the opportunity to see any of the documentary shows so I can't give a review on any. My sister said she watched one out of curiosity and would never do so again because while it started out interesting enough, they gave unnecessarily graphic play by play descriptions of how people died whose ghosts they were looking for.

I found X-Files to be very entertaining (except all the ufo episodes bored me to tears). There was a book I read awhile back that I don't remember much of called "The Science of X-Files". While some of the stories may have been a little farfetched, most seemed very possible that they could really happen.

I really like Haunted History, on the History Channel, but they almost never show it anymore. It's like a travel show with ghosts. Very entertaining. I don't know how accurate it is, but it's awesome to watch.

Ghost Hunters is annoying--all those whiny employees sniping at each other and screwing up the investigation. Most Haunted has less griping, but more cheeze. I had high hopes for that show, but it often disappoints. Try the History Channel, like when they did that show on the Antichrist, stuff like that. That was a good special. I think it might have been a miniseries. Don't even bother with Crossing Over.

But there's always Buffy and Charmed and the X-Files!

X-files
Ghost Whisperer
Charmed
Stargate (okay not exactly paranormal, but think in a way it could be real!)
Eureka (also not exactly paranormal)
Docudramas: Ghost hunter, Sightings, Proof Positive, A Haunting

There is a Sci-Fi channel movie about a TB hospital built in the early 20's in Kentucky that is the subject of many paranormal investigations. It is called Waverly Hills Tuberculosis Sanatorium, and it was the largest TB hospital/sanitorium in the US.

i don't understand if i'm getting the channel it is going to be on. This reminds slightly of the teach "Worlds Scariest places" became into that it? the place they sent human beings in to spend the night at haunted places and that that they had cameras on their heads, style of like worry element for the paranormal. I supply virtually something a minimum of one probability so if i'm i able to'll watch it. Psi

Ghost hunters is the most believable show on TV.

2006-09-30 06:54:23 · answer #8 · answered by Anonymous · 0 0

None of them.
You can't be both entertaining and accurate about paranormal subjects.
There are no special effects, and most of it is about as exciting as watching paint dry.
