It's the "Micro Email" lottery in Great Britain, and it wants me to email an address it gives and wants me to supply some seemingly-harmless data about myself. Anybody heard of this? Why would they do it? When will they ask me for money? Should I reply?

Any email about winning the Lotto that is not from your wife or mother should be considered a scam, a spam, or a very funny joke (I would assume, after your rage subsides)

Even small amounts of data collected ('phishing') can prove useful. Do NOT distribute valuable information to unauthenticated or unknown parties. However, think to yourself: "if the info they are collecting is truly useless why are they collecting it" and don't give it out.

Very likely either you are not aware of its use/value... OR they are putting you on a short list of willing Punters for the real CON.

Yes, it's a scam. You get asked for money before the non-existant payout. Don't bother replying, you'll get put on a "suckers" list, and get more scams.

Bottom line: you didn't enter, so how could you possibly win?
