O.K. Here is a silly question. My girlfriend invited a bunch of us go to out for her husband's birthday celebration and new job offer. He makes 6 figures so there is not much we can buy that he can't buy for himself. My sister suggested to enter the celebration with a bottle of wine. I guess you can't go wrong with liquor. I'm not much of a wine drinker, but I do know he prefers sweeter drinks...which wine can I buy that is reasonably priced?

White wine is sweeter than red wine. Go to a discount liquor store and ask the proprietor for a nice white wine. Typically, a nice chardonnay, or if you want a lighter wine, a Sauvignon Blanc.

Get him a bottle of Ice Wine. It's harvested in the middle of winter and pressed from frozen grapes when they are loaded with sugars. It's VERY sweet but make s a fabulous wine for dessert-especially with something like a cake.

There is a little known ice wine- Black Star Winery (from Michigan) that makes the BEST ice wine I have ever tasted.

Buy the Acapella!

Ice wine is cool, hip, cutting edge and it won't be something he will be getting lots of bottles of for a birthday. It will be unique!

Champagne I think is more favorable or any Nappa red wine. Sweet tasting can't go wrong. Ask in a liquor store , they know.
