Very rarely. Rather they usually complain about the pace of the journey.

Except in emergencies, people who are carried by others (whether literally, metaphorically, or both) often have a sense of superiority or entitlement.

They should. If not,then they are self centered and are missing out on the wonderful journey of being "carried" by someone who obviously cares for them.....no matter what the reason or situation. I would hope that the person being carried would appreciate it.

When they need your help you don't keep track of the distance. I've help carry a person about a quarter mile on a stretcher with another person. It had to be done.

I have had to be carried out of the bar, into the car, and put into bed a couple times when I have had a little too much to drink and I thank my boyfriend over and over the next day :-)
