I mean, they have every other race as a club (African American, Hispanic, Japanese, Korean, Polynesian, ect) but there's no white/caucasion club. They could call it a European club if they wanted to, but they don't even have that! Why not??

I am not being racist, I simply wanted to know why it would be 'bad' to have a Caucasion or European club.

If there would be a White club, then that club really would be based on the color of your skin, not your nationality, and could be perceived as racist. White is a color, not a heritage. White skinned people could be English, German, French, Australian, etc. And while you could have a European club, it would probably still be perceived racist because there ARE dark-skinned Europeans. You can't have an only white European club because that would be segregation--again--racist. Our school district has German, French clubs, etc. We also have Multi-Culture clubs where student from all different background learn about All different races, cultures and the languages, foods and customs that go along with those cultures. I think this type of club promotes diversity and tolerance.

And it's good that there isn't a 'white club'. Many of these 'clubs' got started so that people of the similar heritage could gather and share common experiences with others 'like' them. And that's fine. But, what we have now is a NATION of special interest groups that all want your undivided attention regarding their issues and their plight. Inadvertently this has brought on a bigger divide among cultures, rather than bringing ALL TOGETHER and sharing together in the one and only 'MELTING POT" of the world. I'm 'white' in appearance, but I would not want to be part of a white club, nor would I even wish that one even existed. Because then people would have another way of LABELING me, and the only LABEL that will stick to this middle-aged 'white guy' is the LABEL of CHRISTIANITY.

You sound like you're playing the race card a bit, if you want a European club so bad then organize a club and stop complaining about how you don't have one.

Suggest it. When I was in high school so many years ago, LOL. They had all types of different culture clubs too. The white kids were a minority in my school. They made the suggestion and they got their club. No one was angry and they were just as excepted as any other culture club. You never know unless you try, but I suggest that you do your research first. So there would be no reason to turn you down. Discrimination comes in all forms. If you don't agree, speak up for yourself. You have a right to be proud of who you are...

Good Luck.

My High School had the same thing. Someone tried to start a white club and the school shut it down because parents and kids of other cultures complained that it might be considered white supremacy.

I think the real issue is that the label "White" is too broad and the label "white" has gotten a bad rap. Maybe if you try to start a club and name it something other than "white" they may see that it's ok.

It doesn't have a "white club" because America is a white club! (sort of)There are so many white people here, and so they don't need a club to stand out or anything. Other racial clubs are formed so that they can all join together and learn more about their own cultures.

That's my opinion, anyways. : )

Stop complaining and organize a club if you want it so much. The school can't deny you a European club.

First, to the person who said they're white and not proud of it, SHAME ON YOU! Everyone should be proud of who they are no matter your color/race.

And, if you want a white club at your school, tell the schoolboard. They can't keep you from having one if they allow all other races to participate in a school sanctioned club. I say if it really bothers you and you want a white club, start it. If you don't, just join the Japanese club! They can't keep you out and you might learn some cool new stuff!!

Because it is politically incorrect. And in our society it is considered racist to have an exclusively white club of any kind. I believe that it is wrong. But nothing can be done.
