Good day to whom ever reads this and thank you for whom ever answers it. I just had a baby boy; We are thrilled and happy for our son, but my wife is retaining A LOT of water, and she is sad. She is OK, doctor says so. But, she is retaining water in proportions that we have never seen; only her legs. Could someone please tell me as many diuretic drinks for I to buy for her?

Thank you.

PS. If you have any other advices I would love to hear them. Thank you all.

She had an epidural didn't she. It's the fluid they gave before they could administer it. About 2-3 litres to be exact.
It will come off. Within 3 days, it will be gone. I promise.
In the meantime, i think to avoid salty foods.
For me, a diuretic would have to be tea. Iced tea, plain orange pekoe. Tea is a diuretic. But she still needs to drink water.
One cup of tea or coffee will make you pee out at least twice that. It takes more than you put in. That's' why people get dehydrated.
It pulls fluid from the rest of your system. and they're not replacing it.
Aside from that, i heard that vinegar helps. (on french fries, or on steamed spinach?)
Hope this helps! Good Luck!! (moving them around too may help a bit. Get circulation going)
:o)

It is normal to retain water. The best thing to do is drink more water. It goes away with time. Keep her feet elevated
and don't walk around too much ( a bit more each day).
Coffee is a diuretic. The sports drinks are a great diuretic also but if she is breast feeding I would not recommend.

Good black tea is a natural diuretic drink. All caffeinated beverages are natural diuretic drinks. I do not recommend sodas. Has your doctor okayed an exercise program for your wife? If so, walking is good for circulation and may help.

It's natural to retain water after having a baby. It's all the IV fluid they pump into you, I swear! lol Give it a week or so and the swelling will go away.
After I had my son my feet swelled up so much that I could feel the skin on the tops of my feet jiggle when I walked.

Anything with alcohol or caffeine. These are natural diuretics. They'll help. Also, she can take water pills to aid urination.
