I was just wondering how many weeks pregnant the typical woman is when she finds out the sex of the baby... at my next doctor's appointment I will be 11 weeks and I'm just curious as to if that is too early to see anything, as far as the sex, ect. I'm just really anxious to find out!!!

That's way too early. The earliest they will tell you is 16 weeks, but for most they tell you at 20 weeks.

first time you can see it at 16 weeks. But most doctors direct an ultrasound around week 20 to do the general big check up on all systems. So not to do too many ultrasounds, most common, you'll be offered one around week 20 where they can also tell you the sex of the baby.

Usually around 16 weeks of gestation, but that doesn't mean you will actually find out. Some of these Lil' people are a little shy with camera and tend to find out ways to position itself (legs crossed, etc.) in a way that you won't be able to see if there is pudding or a spoon.

I was 22 weeks pregnant when I found out it was a GIRL!!! You have to be at least 18 weeks to see anything at all.

I am 21 weeks and they still haven't told me. I had my 1st ultrasound at 10wks and they said the lil' critter was to small to tell whether it had an "innie" or an "outie". I think my next ultrasound is in a few weeks though, they said they might tell me then.

20 weeks, you;ll be in the room for at least a half hour. They like to torment you first and show you each body part besides the damn sex...hopefully your child won't have their legs crossed like mine! lol Good luck!

The baby won't get it's sex organs until between the 4th and 5th month.
