I have always tried to set goals for myself. Now, I will not reach all the goals and the goals change as time passes. There are many theories of motivation. Sone are discussed in the article below. While motivation may come from outside ones self, I believe that intrinsic motivation is the greatest factor in achieving success in ones endeavors. Do not be afraid to fail. Often we learn more from our pains and failures than easily won victories. Good Luck and always keep trying to improve yourself.

Motivation is basically based on emotions and therefore like will power is unreliable. The solution is solid planning. Make a plan follow it and make adjustments when it's not working. But if you are looking for something to try to trigger the feeling of being motivated we all have a few songs that make us feel good and get us noving try making a cd of those songs and play it when those feelings need to be triggered

The way I stay motivated is that I am in constant competition with myself. I am always trying to do better than I did before.

Other people always feel they have something to prove, a chip on their shoulder, and so they always try to excel.

The healthies way to do this is to maintain a positive attitude and to try to fix reasonable goals and always try to keep focus on them. If you're absolutely certain of what you want and you know how to get it, than there should be no trouble getting motivated.

The secret is to build long term goals and objectives on short term easily achievable goals.

For example, you want to buy a house but you can;t afford it. Firts, try getting a job, once you have it, then try to save a reasonable amount of money every month. Project how much money you would've saved and then once you have enough money for the down payment, go for it. Of course, you have to be careful with you credit and so forth. Once you have your house than all you have to do is stick to the plan so you can finish paying it off.

Reading about things that I have never thought of keeps me motivated. I always like to learn something new. This keeps life interesting and prevents boredom.

What's so great about motivation? Employers want their slaves to be motivated so they don't have to be driving them all the time, but why would an individual want to be motivated?

Life is a war and if you stop fighting you get swept away. I'm at the age where I'm tired, discouraged, angry, and have total contempt for the human race, but I still get up and go to my job everyday because like I said, life is war and you have to keep moving.
