PLANT 50 TREES WHEN CUTTING ONE

2006-09-30 04:52:19 · answer #1 · answered by Anonymous · 0 0

I heard of this in New Guinea.
Local tribes are offered money for logging rights to their tree. But those same trees may be the host plant to exotic butterflies.

Buying 20 butterflies gives the tribe the same income as cutting down a tree. Since each butterfly lays 100's of eggs, alternative incomes are available that way for tribes.
