yes I have in the past always - but getting to know you and others on here I get to see YOUR mind before I see you, so I can't judge the book by it's cover without reading the inside first - I hadn't realized until recently how awesome that connection could be!

The way I perceive someone is absolutely based on what I see in them. It would be humanly impossible to NOT form a perception of someone. When I meet a person, any person, I assume that person is a good person, and continue to think that unless given a reason to think otherwise. In other words, I don't assume all blondes are dumb, all people that wear glasses are smart, all guys are jerks, all people who play in bands do drugs, all overweight people are lazy, all car salesman want to rip me off, or all young Black guys are going to take my money or my car. Assuming some things is automatic, like I will assume a person can talk, hear, and think. Other than the norm, I can honestly say that I do not make assumptions that are not based on observation

Of course we do. Definitely. Does that mean it is the correct assumption? And does it mean it won't change?
I always keep that first impression in the back of my mind. Sometimes it drives me to get to know the person much better. Other times it makes me cautious. But I've found that other times I'm purely spot on. Sometimes the people I'm cautious about turn out to be the bestestest people in the world!!
So I always hold out on these assumptions......but merely file them away for later. ;)

Yes we all do. Perceptions of someone else is formed by their appearance, color, voice, background if you know it, sex, height, accent, where they live, the car they drive, clothes, social status, education, the company they keep,
Whether we admit it or not we all make or form our perception of others based on first glimpse to some extent using the above as a formation of our thoughts.

Always. And I do think it can be a bad thing to do so. I've always got something going through my mind about the other person I'm just meeting for the first time. Sometimes in the end I'm right sometimes I'm wrong. Just like I have a best friend we've been best friends for 8 yrs now. But I can honestly say and I've told her this. When I first meet her I just didn't like her... So it's not always right. But I always do it sill to this day.

It's human nature to form a perception of someone. It's also human naure to choose how much they will allow that perception to influence their relationship.

Yes I do. When I meet someone and listen to the way they talk. The way they act. If it's not in a good way or they act rude I assume they are different then me. It's human to feel that way. I mean just like kids. You don't won't your kids hanging around people that could get them in trouble. I don't won't to be around someone that is rude because people will think I'm the same way. I just used rude as a example.

We all form perceptions and assume things about people. It is up to us to try only for good ones and automatically assume the worst.

Yes, I do usually have a perception of people that I deal with but haven't met. Human nature I guess!
