Keep them indoors. Cats are hunters and are not the most trainable of animals so I doubt you can teach them not to hunt. If you do use belled collars make sure that they are loose enough so the cat can get its head out of them when do get hung up. Removing the cats front claws gives some prey a better chance of escape but I hate to see people who let their cats outdoors do that to them as it also removes the animals first line of defense. Good luck!

Sweetheart, they're bringing you their kills because you're their master. They are animals, for goodness sake. This is their instinct. Take the bells off or you could get THEM killed. They could strangle or choke from getting caught on something. Another wild animal could ravage them if they can't defend themselves...a raccoon, possum, badger, even a snake. If you love them, don't do that to them. They are natural predators.
Live with it and praise them when they bring you their trophies.

There is NO way to stop them from this it is their survival instinct! Cats were not always domestic and if they go outside they WILL kill birds and other small prey as it is in their heritage and blood! Its like us and Mcdonalds!!!!! Keep them inside is the only way to avoid it!

That is there instinct you are not going to be able to stop them unless you make them indoor cats. I have had cats all my life some cats are hunters and some are not. The reason they bring them into the house is because they want you to be proud of them. You are there mom.

If you let them out, they're going to hunt and kill animals. It's genetically programmed into cats. Unfortunately, they also bring the prey home.

Invest in the collars and invisible "gences" that let pets go outside but keeps them within one area. This will cut down on the amount of hunting they can do.

all these answers helped, thank you. It is true, they are showing their love, I forget this sometimes when they bring me live blue jay for a present. It can get a bit disturbing, but as expressed above...they are natural hunters, and think of us humans as part of the pack...I just need to keep this in mind when trying to rescue the live prey.

Keep them inside. They're just doing what they do naturally.
