I am going to agree with the first responder. However, back and leg pain do tend to be common.

I waitressed while pregnant with my daughter, and did not take my leave until I was 37 weeks. The walking kept me fit during the pregnancy, and I tend to believe it made my labor easier and shorter than most women.

With my daughter, I was only in labor for 7 1/2 hours. Only 4 hours were spent in the hospital during the labor. I had her naturally, as well.

But, you should speak to your doctor, and see what he recommends. You need to do what is best for baby.

It should not affect the baby. But with your added weight it is going to give you a bit of backache and leg pain at times. Your body is not used to the position you are standing in with baby bringing a lot of weight forward and you leaning back a bit to compensate. So, it is going to tell you by pain that it is not used to it. I would check with your employer and see if there is a way to sit down on your job or take a few more breaks to rest and put your feet up for 5 or 10 min. Most employers are pretty understanding and usually will cooperate.

i worked until my last day.... I worked at a retail store and you know who busy they get... standing all day, or going around through the store.... my last day was December 31st and my baby was born January 3rd.....my baby was and still is a healthy girl..... i don't think it will affect the baby...
your bad backache and legs pain may be because of the uneven weight gain.... you are getting more on your stomach is not proportional.... but it has nothing to do with your job

well at this stage of pregnancy you should not be on your feet all day long that is why you're having backaches , you should find out when you are able to take your leave from work or talk to your doctor and see what he thinks about you continuing with work. sometimes your body just can't handle being upright all day and pregnancy is one of those times. that's a lot of pressure on your feet , legs and back and even though it won't hurt the baby it is currently hurting you , talk to the doctor about your options.

It shouldn't really effect the baby...though it might cause stress causing the babies heart rate to either raise or lower. I think you should talk to your Dr. Maybe you should request a chair so that you can sit down durring work. If your boss won't allow it or it just isn't possible due to the type of work you do then I suggest looking for another job. You and that baby should be priority number one.

Again, Talk to your Dr. and see what he/she thinks.

standing up all day wont usually effect the baby, unless your high risk. It is just uncomfortable, and can cause swelling in you ankles, legs abd feet. My question would be.. are you absolutely sure your not beginning early labor? bad back pain is a common labor complaint.

Get a stool to do some of your work, if possible, or at least to sit on occasionally throughout the day. You should walk, drink plenty of water, and rest from standing. Talking to your doctor is your next important step

I feel sorry for you because I was suffering the same problems about a month ago. You really need to sit some if you can. when you are pregnant your vessels enlarge and this can lead to spider veins or busted blood veins. Which is dangerous to you.And what is dangerous to you is dangerous to your baby

no, it wont effect your baby, just give you horrible back pains. been there, done that. if its possible just take breaks as often as you need, sit down whenever you get a chance, try to sit with your feet elevated, it does help. i was on my feet all day when i was pregnant and it stinks, but you'll get through it.

i recommend you sit down cause the baby might feel uncomfortable with you moving around, plus it will help your legs and back pain, i think the raeson you woke up with pain is because the baby might be kicking or you must have been standing up to long yesterday, I hope you feel better!
