I'm playing World of Warcraft on the 14-day free trial edition. After the 14 days are up can I still keep playing the same character on paid account or do I have to start with a new character? Thanks.

No, but after 14 days you'll need to have a paid account set up. This has to be done at the main website. After activating the game, before the login screen comes up you should get a mini version of the webpage - at least that's what happens on my copy. There are links in there you can use to set up your account. If there's a lapse your character will still be saved for a period of time (30 days I think). You can also buy cards at some game stores that are kind of like prepaid phone cards - they can be bought in advance, then enter the code for a given period of play (usually 60 days).

You do *not* have to go out and buy a complete new copy of the game; the equivalent purchase can be made online. But if you want the manual and map etc. you might want to do that anyway.

The reason Blizzard even offers the 14 day trials is in hopes of getting you hooked on the game enough to buy an actual account. That being said, it is set up so that when the trial is over, you pay for a subscription or use subscription cards to keep the service going. You cannot, however, transfer this character to an existing paid/paying account. You can just continue on with the same character by going to worldofwarcraft.com and logging into the account you created when you first started playing. There you will see the option to upgrade the account to paid and full member status. Hope that helps!

You do not have to delete your chracter, but you would have to buy a retail copy of the game and you have to register the retail copy's cd key to your current trail account. This is true even if you have a trail account. Hope this answers your question
