Why do people talk in numbers?

(such as - I 4got or b4)..it is very annoying and makes you sound moronic. Do you not know how to spell?

LIBRAGIRL You're right. It's that way people do things now but it's crumbling our society. Writing like that should not be published in ANY public forum including chat boards or webpages. Text messaging and personal email is fine, so long as you don't mind looking like a 12 year old.

It is because the youth of the day are growing up learning text speak only. They don't realise that they will need to be able to spell and speak and write when they get out into the real world. Most of them anyway will end up in dead end minimum wage jobs at McDonalds.

I know what you mean, it drives me crazy too. Some of the messages you just can't read, so I move on.

I agree, sometimes i do. I only really did it after my surgery when i could only type with one hand because my other arm hurt too much to move. I do know it cuts down typing time though.

I really hate when people talk like this...
" lyk omg, did u c wht happ on da tv last nite? it wuz totalllly awesum." that makes them sound really stupid. Most of the words they use dont even cut down on typing.

i think its a cute way of typing and i use it. and it shouldn't annoy u that's what people do now and days, so get with the program.

this originates from text messaging, to make room for all your words on one page you make ways of making the words smaller.
