By the time you got to the top of Everest going backwards, Hasselhof probably wouldn't have such a major influence in your scheme of things anymore and therefore it wouldn't matter one way or the other.
Of course, long before then you would fall into an endless chasm and as you froze to death slowly you could wonder if it was worth the attempt.

David Hasselhof still be so vain because he's so insecure, and in trouble. He can't get jobs, and is now seeking what ever parts he can get. He thinks he has ot act so vain as part of his character people expect of him.

You could climb it backwards in a pink furry cat costume and he'd still be the vainest man ever, in fact he'd be even vainer because he'd think you climbed Mt Everest backwards FOR him!
P.S. Men having mid-life crisis' tend to wear leather pants, David Hasselhoff is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY past mid-life an still wears them, this is disturbing!
