404 File Not Found Server cannot find the file you requested. File has either been moved or deleted, or you entered the wrong URL or document name. Look at the URL. If a word looks misspelled, then correct it and try it again. If that doesn't work backtrack by deleting information between each backslash, until you come to a page on that site that isn't a 404. From there you may be able to find the page you're looking for.

It means the file that it was linked to does not exist. What they should have done was edit thier 404 error to link to another page that they want to link to.. it's kinda important if u dont want to lose ur customers (if it's a company selling product website) or ur friend list (if it's a blogging one).. sometimes, you may hv just typed in the wrong url...

404 error means that the page isnt there
for the follwoing reasons
1 the page got erased,
2 the name you are using is the wrong one

It means that the Web page is not avaiable or does not exist. If you have your security settings too high you may be locking yourself out of that particular site, or the site may be down for maitenance. Check your spelling.
