That's why the teacher assigned it. Iambic pentameter is something it takes messing with the words to achieve. First, write the line to approximate what you want it to say. Then wherever the words do not fit the meter, find which word (or two) is messing you up, and look for another similar word (do you have a thesaurus?) that will fit the meter.

This is crafting a poem, not just writing free form. It's a discipline. But if you can do it, you can also learn to write songs. That might make it worth your while.

shakespeare is very compicated, and you should not be ashamed that you are having some trouble. try using a rhyming dictionary with the words that you want to use, then check the syllables and the iambic pentameter. scince the iambic pentamiter is based on your heart rate, you can try using your heart beat to the sound of your beat.

The key is to use monosyllabic words because they can either be emphasized or not, so there's a lot more leeway with them.
