And if you are free and have your own consciousness, how can He be all-powerful?
He is everywhere at once, how can he not be all things?
This has been a big problem for theologians. They have struggled with it for centuries. One solution, is, as you hinted, pantheism, which is the belief that God is, in fact, everything. This is what Hindus actually believe, as everything is an emanation of the Brahman, including your own consciousness.
For Christians, Jews and Muslims, however, except for a few exceptions, that solution is not acceptable. These religious traditions clearly posits a God that is different from creation and that has the power to make judgments upon it. The text of Genesis, furthermore, clearly states the Universe is created as an entity distinct from God.
One solution has been proposed by French philosopher Blaise Pascal. He posits that God exists as the smallest point possible in size, but that he moves infinitely quickly through creation. So that while God is not the creation itself, He is in fact, everywhere at once, because His movement (at infinite speed) places him everywhere at once.

The thing that is not God is the mystery of iniquity, the beginning and essence of evil, or non-truth.
This came from God, he created it out of himself in order to create beings which could learn things he chooses not to know.
As we learn, the hope is we will choose Him over the lies, and after having gone through a lot of painful spiritual development, when we mature, and become part of his family, we can provide challenging and interesting interaction with him. Imagine how boring it must be for God to know everything there is to know because there was nothing in existence that wasn't him. He had to create something different, and that is all false, for he is the truth. Since such pure evil is intolerable, we are being created as a product of both. Our pain of living is a consequence of being forged from these two opposites. God is aware of how much it hurts, since he has come and lived as a human among us before. He's always the one who can't understand liars.
So, in a real way, humans are NOT God, but have been developing to be tolerable to God. Then we will hopefully be good company for him and he won't be so lonely and bored.
If you feel loneliness, so does God, only on an infinite scale
It is for his sake that I choose what is good over what is evil, and that I choose what is true over what is false.
I have one goal in my life today, to fit myself to be of maximum service to him by being of maximum service to his family, and that's all you out there who love truth.
philo=love sophy=understanding (truth)
The highest calling is to be good company for God, since there are no other entities with free choice who have knowledge of both good and evil besides us.
I apologize for such a long answer, but I want to give you an example of a lie that has not been corrected in the human world.
It has never been permissable for people to kill people. We have never had that authority, yet still to this day we have become complacent about that commandment. When we kill, all we are really doing is prolonging the process of develpment for that person who is killed. We don't have the ability to actually destroy them, just interrupt their time in life. This is why Jesus gave us such a horrifying lesson when he sacrificed himself. He let himself be "killed" to show us we really aren't accomplishing anything when we kill, because he couldn't really be killed. He came back right away. He told us to turn the other cheek, to put up with anything, to even love our enemies. He did this because God would like the killing to stop, since it prolongs the pain for all of us by slowing down our spiritual progress. When we kill, the killed have to start over.
It is for all of our sakes that killing should stop. No matter what. If people only knew how much pain it causes ourselves when someone is killed, then they would truly see it would be better to die than to kill. It really has to stop, or the whole experiment in creation could end. That is God's choice. Incidentally, there is a time when humans will be separated from lies, rather that thing called iniquity. May you be among those who survive.

He is the beginning and the end, which I have always believed refers to time, not substance.

God is not evil, wrong, imperfect, ignorant, powerless.
