I've been called a snot

I have been, and I wonder why.
Because I don't want to talk to you? Because you're boring and unintelligent? Because I like to eat off gorgeous plates and appreciate proper table manners? Because we're different and I don't like you?
I do find it amusing that some people are offended by the term. If I snub someone, technically I am a snob (or so I am led to believe).
It's not a derogatory term or a put-down, as far as I'm concerned.
Sure, I *am* a snob. Everyone has their own form of snobbery, 'snob' is a relative term. Relative to the person being snubbed.
Some people think they are being snubbed when they're not, they're self-snubbing and blaming someone else for their own insecurity.

I would never snub a kind, rational or decent person.

(and just to clarify, my parents were neither rich nor 'posh'. i don't think i'm 'better' than other people. i like the things i like and i understand that we are all very different people.)

Yes.

And they were not wrong.

If I think people fail to meet a minimum level of respectability and proper, decent behaviour I won't hesitate to explain it to them. I'll even include diagrams if the ignorance is so deeply embedded that words are not enough to get the message across.

I'm quite capable of calling good-for-nothing low-lives good-for-nothing low-lives.

Therefore, I am a snob. And frankly, I am a shameless snob :o)

Of all the names in the world, I think "snob" is the only one I have not been called.

Yes only once and the person didn't even know me. It bothered me because I am the complete opposite if a snob. They were so wrong!

Yes. They're wrong. Some people, and some relatives, think because we have good full-time jobs, own our home, and have nice vehicles, we are snobs.

Yes. Sometimes they are right. It depends on my mood. I can be a snob but most of the time I am nice

Yeah, once or .. twice? When I was little. Not really my fault, I have my own reason when I did something WHICH is NOT snobbish at all. They're definitely wrong, they just didn't know me better. After all, I am quite a shy with people especially with those with higher rank or power like teacher, officer or whatever.

No. I have always been told I am the most friendly person that they have ever met. I may not really be the most friendly, but I always try to be friendly. My mama always told me I could probably even make friends with Satan.
