It will take about an hour to get to Cocoa Beach. That is if traffic is ok & you drive there yourself & don't get lost! No public transpetation goes from Kissimmee to Cocoa. Sorry

Orlando is in the center of the state so it depends on which beach. From Kissimmee, the beaches in the Tampa and St. Pete's/Clearwater area are closer but only slightly. It's about an hour to the beaches on the Gulf (not counting for traffic or rush hour) and it's about an hour and a quarter to the Atlantic beaches. When I lived there they did not have shuttle buses to the beaches but that is 6 years ago so they may be offering them now. Check with your hotel's front desk to see if they know of any that you could take.

I live near Cocoa Beach and as far as I know public transportation from Orlando to here is non existent. Taking a cab is going to cost big so if you can renting a car would be your best bet. Take 528 east till you hit Port Canaveral then head a few miles south if you want to go to Cocoa Beach (very crowded with tourists) or you could stay in the city of Cape Canaveral go east through the neighborhood (about 5 blocks deep) and go to a less crowded/ free beach access there. Good Luck

If you stay in Kissimmee I think the closest beach is Cocoa Beach. There is a public beach there about 2 blocks from Ron Jon's surf shop. As far as public transport goes I'm not entirely sure. It takes about an hour to get there and the drive is fairly easy. I was just there in May and drove for the first time. I don't have a lot of big city driving experience and I handled it well. You could check with your hotel when you get there and see what they can tell you about transportation. Some hotels have shuttles and car rentals. If you don't want to rent you might have to taxi.

Out of those three options, Miami Beach for sure. Key West is way too expensive and too many tourists. Orlando has too many children and families (nothing against children and families, but its not romantic to hear children screaming and crying). Miami Beach has the ocean, great restaurants, excellent hotels, and lots of clubs to hang out in.

I live in Florida and the most it is from anywhere to the beach is about an hour. We live about 40 minutes from Orlando and our house is 2 minutes from the beach...so 42 minutes from Vero Beach.

Cocoa Beach is about 40 minutes away.

Miami Beach is about 4 hours away.

Wouldn't bother with Coco Beach as I always find it dirty, be much better going over to Clear Water or down to Fort Lauderdale, much nicer and cleaner.Takes approx !.5 to 2 hrs to each beach.

Depends on the beach you want to go to. Can be as short as an hour to as long as 4 hours.
