Your eyes could be just be dry, or you could have scratched them. Try some artificial tear eye drops for a day or so. If doesn't improve, or get other symptoms (tearing, sensitivity to light) you should probably go see an opthamologist, it may be a scratch that could very easily become infected.

Possibly there was something in them that you have since removed, but you scratched your eyeball or your inner eyelid in the removal process. This is not serious and will heal. Use eye drops (soothing sort) and don't rub it. If it doesn't clear up in a few days or begins to have a discharge see a Dr. Good luck.

It's very likely your corneas are scratched. Or less dramatic, if you wear eye make-up, it could be flaking off into your eyes. That happens to me all the time. Oh, and I have these unruly eye lashes that are naturally curly, but every once in a while, one rouge lash likes to curl downward and scratch my iris. I just pluck it and get on with my day.

Allergies. Shower every day, and change sheets often, and pillowcase every day. Use cetaphil to wash your eyes, avoid eye makeup. It helps some, but October is my month for allergies, so I will have to re-instate all these measures.

you have a light scratch on the eye ball, it will heal itself, but will be sore and uncomfortable for awhile. you have the dirt out, but damage is already done.
