the story seems a bit 'fishy'. while i can see the arrow might still be in millow, i find it rather hard to believe that millow had a freakin bow in him!

if you just made a mistake and included the bow in your story, here is my advice: allow the cat to go out as usual. it would be very rare for a cat to have that happen again (remember, he only gets 8 more arrows for free, after that he will surely die).

i'm actually not a veterinarian, nor am i an archery expert, however, i did stay at a holiday inn express last night!

Confine him to a bathroom for a few days with his food, water, litterbox and keep him there until he uses it. It's tough and he will complain bitterly and that is the only way to do it.

I would get Rescue Remedy from a health foods store and treat him with that too. He has had a traumatic experience and this will help him get over that and adjust to his new inside living situation. You simply shake the bottle well and put three to four drops on the fur between his ears. Do it frequently, three to four times a day until he appears to be settling down. The flower essences are for emotional healing and cannot harm the cat in any way or interfere with any medications (like anitbiotics) that he may be taking on the vet's recommendation.

So the problem is that you can't stand to listen to the cat scream. You have to decide if you would rather take a chance and put him out or go through a bad day or two while he adjusts to the fact that you aren't gonna let him out. He will be angry about not getting his way but he will adjust eventually. Surely the risk involved in letting him out is not that great, unless of course the bow wielding neighbor hates him? Good luck, it's your decision.

by all means keep the litter box in the house for him.....If you go to a pet supply store, they have an herbal calming spray that works really well, you just spray it in your house ....it has chammomile in it, which is naturally calming....he should settle into the new routine soon.
