"Don't lift things when your feet are too close together. If your feet are closer than shoulder width you'll have poor leverage, you'll be unstable, and you'll have a tendency to round your back."

I lift everyday at work as i am a delivery man. First thing you need to do is strengthen your back muscles with exercise, ensure you dont attempt to lift anything that seems too heavy get someone to help you. Keep your elbows as close as practically possible to your sides, bend your knees let your leg muscles take the strain.DO NOT lift and twist at the same time, this is the biggest cause of puuling muscles in your back.

When you lift a heavy object your back should be straight. You bend your knees and use your leg muscles to give you the lift. To round your back is to allow it to bend foward as you life which is a major cause of back injury during lifting

NEW WAY OF LIFTING IS KINETIC LIFTING WHERE YOU DO HAVE A NATURAL POSTURE INSTEAD OF A TOTALLY STRAIGHT BACK. CHECK WITH THE HEALTH AND SAFETY MANUAL AT WORK OR SCHOOL
