The person who made the most famous hoax video about Bigfoot was revealed after death by his children.
Historically Bigfoot was taken seriously, Teddy Rooseveldt put and expedition together to search for the creature (your great grandparents tax dollars at work).
At this point it has been pretty well discredited... but it remains a cool idea that people don't want to give up.

Bigfoot is real. I am convinced I heard one one night in the woods while looking for evidence for bigfoot and it scared the Bejeasus out of my brother and I. Based on the Patterson film, the stories from the native tribes, the stories in Asia, the footprints, the number of reported sightings, the hair, fossils, consisitency of sightings in detail and location, and other evidence, it becomes very unscientific to claim that they don't exist because the explanation for their existence is far simpler than trying to figure out what else could be producing all that evidence.
responding to a later post: It is a sad fact that Wallace the person who was there when the term Bigfoot was coined later had his family claim that he hoaxed the whole thing. He did not and did not admit to anything like that. His family simply did not share his passion. I wouldn't say Wallace never faked anything but the footprints on the road they were building above Bluff Creek were real. The story is an interesting one with multiple sightings. It also happens to be where the Patterson film was made (within a few miles) and also where I had my encounter one night. Teddy Rooservelt merely related a tale which was told to him by a man named Bauman when he was a trapper. Rooservelt was impressed with his sincerity and so included it in his book. It was a very scary story.

There is no evidence that any individual or community of such creatures dwells anywhere near any of the “sightings.” In short, the evidence points more towards hoaxing and delusion than real discovery.
For me seeing is believeing..and i have yet to see one so i would say its a hoax.

There is a creature like that, I saw him when I was around 8 years old. I will never forget that sight! It was not that he was so scary looking, but that it was so odd looking.

yes I believe, The problem with some Scientist are under the impression that everything can be explained By science. and they they know the answers because we are in the modern age.
but through time, scientist always think that they knew everything that there is to know. Only to be Proven wrong later on in the future. There are things that exist that we have no clue as to why, can't be scientifically proven, but does that make them any less real?

Of course he's real. I have one named Bernie that visits me on a regular basis. He's very shy, and likes green tea. He's also partial to Shakespeare, but doesn't like to watch television.

Yeah he is real. If people were making this up, there would have to be tons of people in on the joke.
