I'm sure you love your kids, all moms do, but I think being a mom is the hardest job you can ever take, I enjoy it but by the end of the day I count the minutes for my daughters to sleep ,
Being a mom means that you are the example for your kids , being cheerful, helpful and attentive all the time, but hearing mom 1000 times a day definitely gets on my nerves at the end.

It used to annoy the hell out of me, made me feel old. But I'm getting better about accepting it politely. I do it too so shouldn't be so hard on everyone else. If someone calls me ma'am, I will generally respond with something like 'Please, call me Mary.' But it all depends on the situation. I think the thing that bugs me the most is when I get the Mrs bit.... that is worse than Ma'am! hehe

mam as in mom, momma? never. i'd love hearing it from my kids till the day i die.
or mam as in ma'am? either case, no. im a professor and most people call me that, even students older than I in postgrad. in our country, most people start calling you ma'am once you hit your 20's as a sign of respect.

only when they say maaaaaaaaam! my 2 flirt between 'mummy' when they are all loving or tired, 'maaam' when they want something or to ask you a mad question or 'maw' when trying to act cool in front of their friends. You wouldn't have it any other way though!

no, Its a sign of respect when my kids say yes ma'am and Sir....... From what i was told they were supposed to enforce in school........now i dont always think its appropriate........... i dont need my kids to say yes ma'am when i am asking if they want a cookie i would rather a yes please and thank you........but mine are too young to get the difference.....
