I take pictures on my digital; download them to my computer, but when I send them it takes forever for others to download them. What do I need to do?

If you have an image editing package like photoshop, Corel photopaint , fireworks, photoshop elements or even one of the simple ones that come with you pc you can save the image as a jpg and compress it down. In photoshop it's very easy and even gives you a preview of the image so you can see the effects of your changes before you save it. You may also want to search on download.com for cheap or free image editing software because the ones i mentioned above are exspensive and not well suited to those on a budget. Photoshop Elements is the lite version of Photoshop and it under 50 bucks I think.

Most people limit downloadable jpg files to 640x480. I'm betting that yours are something like 3000x2000.

You could also lower the number of colors and dpi settings, but that leads to awful pics.

alittle trick that works to cut them in half is to simply open the file in the windows editor ... then hit file/saveas/jpeg .... and save it to itself overwriting the original ... that will shrink it to about half size.
