Racist became a word before people raced cars. So the meaning was already captured. However, Pianists have been around long before so the word got to keep it's meaning.

well, like somebody said before, they are not the race, they are racing. also, the english language is jacked up. but on top of that, racism existed well before race cars did. and also the word pianist existed way beyond the age of race cars theyh werent thinking of cars wen they made the english language, considering that that was hundreads of years ago. (cars didnt exist till about 1900)
