What do you mean units that aren't alike? This is second grade math. Move the decimal point to the right place and you get the answer.

1 Liter=1000 mL

All you need to do is look at the name of the unit. How many CENTimeters are there in a meter? (Hint: how many years are in a CENTury?)

1 kilometer (Kilos?!?! you dont know how big a kilo is?)=1000 meters.

The scale goes like this: All in factors of 10s. Move the decimal place 3 spaces over for each different prefix.

nano-micro-milli-centi <<<>>> kilo-mega-giga

So 100 meters is:
100000millimeters, 10000 centimeters, .1 kilometers, .0001 megameters, and .000001 gigameters.

If it helps, think of your computer.

A megabyte is how many bytes? (answer: 1,000,000)
A Gigabyte is how many? (1,000,000,000)
A Terabyte? (1,000,000,000,000)

How, look at grams. A kilogram is how many grams? Put 1 gram in the middle, and move over 3 spaces. Now put a decimal point there. So one kilogram=1000 grams.

1 gram is how many milligrams? Again, move over 3 spaces for each prefix and you get .001.

If it helps, you can think of any number as itself followed by an infinite number of zeroes. For instance, 1 is just 1, or it could be 1.00000000000 (this is referred to as significant digits) But you don't really even need to know this stuff. You only need to be able to count to 3 to do this...I really hope you can do that.

1) 1.3L = 1300 mL
(1 L = 1000 mL)

2) 307 cm cubed = 0.000307 m cubed
1m3=1000000cm3

3) 456.4 mL = 456.4 cm cubed
they are equal

5) How many Centigrams are there in 5.52 KG ?
552000 centigrams

6) How many kilometers are there in 5.5 x 10 to the 7 cm ?
550km
1km=10 to the 5 cm

7) How many mL in 0.51 L ?
510 mL

8) Find the number of KM in 70.61m ?
0.07061km

Hope this helps

First you need to know the conversion factor then take the larger unit and convert it to the smaller and then divide; for example I will do the first one for you then you figure the rest (the conversion units should be in your book)

1.3 L = ______ mL
There are 1000 mL in 1 L so to convert you would multiply 1.3 x 1000 to get 1300 mL

So, therefore 1.3 L = 1300 mL

Remember kin henry died by drinking chocolate milk.
If you are converting cm to mL,then you look at the c and move one space over to the m.
