how can i add text and grapics to my pictures for free?

i know i can use photoshop but i dont want to pay for it

use gimp it is free with lots of scripts to automate your tasks, it is really good

Go to your Paint Program and you can do it there. Make a copy of the Pic first so you can keep the origional.
