If this is the USA: go to the probate court in the county seat of the county where your grandfather lived and was domiciled. There will be a file (either printed or on computer) of all estates probated, by year. Look up your grandfather's name. Get the docket or file number. Ask for the file. Copy what you want. Bring lots of quarters, they usually charge something like 25 cents a page for an informal (uncertified) do-it-yourself copy.

If this is England: go here: http://www.hmcourts-service.gov.uk/cms/wills.htm

If it's Canada, S.Africa, Australia, Ireland, N.Z. etc. post your question again and say so; or google or some such.

1) Are you sure there was a will? It's not always a safe assumption.

2) Did he have a lawyer help him make the will? That would be the first place to look. If you were a little kid four years ago this is probably not within your abilities.

3) Have you asked anyone else in your family or is this an attempt to take what most likely actually isn't yours?

If you were a little kid only 4 years ago, you are probably still a minor. If he left you anything, it is probably in a trust until you turn a certain age. But to actually answer your question. Wills are a filed document at the county recorders office of the county where he would have made his will. The filling of a well existing is actually public record. If he left a will, you should be able to obtain a copy there, or be referred to the lawyer who filed the document and go to them.

I'm not Dr.Phil. But I do have somebody that my mother suffered for. Her grandma died. She was a sweet old lady. She has items that nobody can touch. They once belonged to her. I'm about to go threw the same thing. My Grandma is old. But she loves me. I am sure your Grandpa loved you too. I bet you have something of his you could remember him from. Follow in his steps. Do what you think he might of wanted you to do. He might just want you to be a follower or a leader. You just what is right. Like you could start a business repersenting his name. Like a store. You could just follow in those steps. And maybe someday you might just be able to fill in those empty holes in your heart. But you would still remember your Grandpa. I hope this helps. I am sorry that your Grandpa died. But God just wanted to take him. Don't worry, if you and your Grandpa were Christians then when you die you could see him in heaven. Maybe he would be proud of you for doing as this.

not annoynomous, and not Dr.Phil.
