I don't have any mop and glo. Is there something else I could mix with water to mop my floors with? Would dishwashing detergent work? I hope this doesn't seem like a silly question, I'm really curious. I just moved into a new apartment. Thanks in advance!

On my kitchen floor often I use pinesol or mr. clean. You can use regular dish soap you just need to go back over with a rinse or it can get cloudy

Also I use a mop most of the time because I am in a hurry but I try to get on hands and knee once a month (busy household) so that I can make sure all the corners are real clean. The mop has a tendency to push the dirt along the edges of the wall.

Happy cleaning - wish my kids asked those kind of questions LOL

1 c auto dish soap, 1/2 cup bleach with 1 gal hot water; if you have no wx floors this will get the dirt and crime and bring back shine, if you need to shine I would recommend a simple polish made with equal parts flour, salt and white vinegar and lemon juice, 2 to 4 c flour, 1/2 c salt, 1 c vinegar and 1cup lemon juice mix in bucket, fill bucket 1/4 way with warm water apply with clean sponge mop with even up and down strokes.

From the list you give, I'd go with the Lysol. You need to buy yourself one of the newer swiffer mops. They make a hard job so much easier.

Just water would do the trick if the floors aren't filthy or yes dishwashing liquid is fine or disinfectant or even some methylated spirit

If your floor is too dirty, then use bleach. Otherwise use any cleaning liquid which contains lemon.

Lysol is good. You can also use TSP if you have it.
