You can enter the BIOS (F2, F10 or Delete on some computers) and it will most likely have the Revision number/ Version Number of the BIOS.
Alternately some motherboards(mobo) have a quick splash screen that may have version or revision number displayed.
Within most BIOS flash/upgrade utilities it will read off the version of currently installed BIOS on mobo as well as the version the software is trying to upgrade to.
Each mobo manufacturer ( Asus, DFI, Intel, MSI etc.) usually has instructions on their site for flashing the bios on their boards.
Check out this program, I have never used it but my friend recommended it.

Go to your computer manufacturer's web site. Most companies have a support link that will let you scan your computer and download latest drivers and BIOS revisions for free. And since it's coming from your manufacturer there's less of a chance for a bad download.
