Snowboarding or Skydiving?

I jumped out of an airplane once. A friend of mine wanted to do it but he could not find anyone who had the cahones to go with him. I went and it was terrifying but fun. You can't skydive(at least not in Oregon) if you haven't jumped five times. After that you can pull your own cord. I think skydiving would be more extreme than snowboarding. I have downhill skiied, so I don't think snowboarding would be that extreme, just hard on the knees. Do you have snow where you live? I thought you were from the South. A southern belle as it were. When you jump out of an airplane there is this hatch in the middle of the belly of the plane that opens up to expose 5000 feet of nothing but open fields, highways and powerlines. Worst case scenario is hitting a powerline. Second worst would be landing on a busy highway. I landed where I was supposed to, but it was still scary. If you pull down on the cord too soon you land with a thud. I have flirted with the idea of bungee jumping(my wife wanted to try it before we had kids). I think my window of opportunity for doing it has passed. Try jumping out of an airplane. The chute will open up automatically. It will be a thrill you will not forget.

I'd love to get good at snowboarding , but the experience of skydiving would be unforgettable. I'll learn to fly a plane and take you! :)

Skydiving? You don't even like flying! Lol. Since you are so young at heart... how about tree climbing? Apparently conquering a really tall tree brings the same sense of peace and exhilaration as mountain climbing and you can start with small trees at your local park and work your way up. Some tree climbers are so skilled they can travel from tree to tree without ever touching the ground... which reminds me of that Calvino story about the man who decided to live up in the trees for the rest of his life, "The Baron in the Trees". If you want to make it really extreme... there is always high canopy tree climbing. You could even tackle a Redwood. I read a wonderful article in National Geographic about scientists who climb 300 foot Redwoods to study the ecosystems of the canopies. Each tree is so special they have a name... like mountains. They keep the locations of these trees secret so no one can find them and disturb them. After reading that article, I thought how amazing it would be to climb a tree like that. In the upper canopies they discovered secret gardens of orchids and ferns and rare insects. It sounded so magical. In China, a great tree is called a "Shenmue". People hike up into the mountains to find them. We climbed a mountain in Taiwan to visit one. It was so beautiful and there was a temple built at the base of it. Inside the temple were these primitive clay gods that reminded me of the spirit creatures in Spirited Away. Okay, I've gone a bit off-track.

Snowboarding and Skydiving are for wimps...you need to get into Bullfighting! You have the poise, stature and steely determinism to stare any bull right down...plus you'd look awesome in the outfits!

Definitely skydiving. My first (and only) time, I caught a cloud. Ya look up, you see the underside of a multi-colored buick, and white all around. You look down, you see your feet, and more white. You close your eyes, and you hear what sounds like flags flapping in the breeze. Very peaceful. I highly recommend it.

Of those two I would choose snowboarding..but for me I choose trail running...it can be very extreme based on the course and you get to talk to people more...
