Learning a language is not easy, but the great thing is, if you keep putting effort into it you cannot fail. Your best bet would be a self learning book- Berlitz, Rosetta Stone, etc.

The easiest, quickest way to learn any language, short of moving to Germany, is to hire a a fluent private tutor and study with them at least a couple of times per week. If that's not an option, and moving to Germany isn't an option, try looking for a course at a community college or university. Courses in the continuing ed department are cheaper than regular academic courses.

The PIMSLEUR language program is the best one I have found to learn and speak another language. It is available at Barnes & Noble and widely sold new or used on E bay.
I have used it to learn French and will start German (speachen sie Dueshe) soon myself. It is not going to make you fluent with just the first set of 30 lessons, but it is very easy to use.

I know Berlitz had programs for years. I even bought books which had I not lost them while locked-up would have had me fluent in a number of languages. So I recommend getting Berlitz books or Google Berlitz. If you could visit Germanic neighborhoods for as total an immersion as you can get with out getting lost in Germany, like I was in Italy years ago.

I know a guy to had an Ipod and bought CD's of the Japanese language. He loaded all the lessons on and just listened all the time.
The best way to learn is to hear it and repeat it, like learning a song!

You can buy the CDs from Rosetti and give it a try to at least get the basics.. a bit pricey though
You can go to google.com and type in Leaning German or words to that affect and you will get a number of sites.

Cut corners all you want, but you ain't gonna learn a language until you find a class to take taught by someone who speaks the language. YEAH, you can learn phrases and sentences and blah blah blah, but to understand the differences in usage, nuances, you gotta speak with real people.

Check out this site: http://www.dw-world.de/dw , if nothing else it may give you some pointers or links. The best way to learn any language is, of course, to be exposed to it, hearing it, speaking it. Repetition is key.
To: my_ig_135, the word is Deutsch ( pronounced doitch, oi as in oink, lol, not Dutch as so many pronounce it ) ) not Dueshe.
Hope the site will be of help to you.

Hahahah...have fun with that. It's easy after you get the hang of it, but man.... If you haven't started now, you're already late in the game. Have fun learning like 20 different words for "a" and "the".
