I remember reading where they prosposed making European countys into states and have a federal government over them like in the USA. Doing the same thing in the middle eastern countrys.
Then have like the United Nations over the whole thing to eliminate war. Why wouldn't it work? Why is the United Nations not working now? What do you think is the problem with this?

The problem is that basically any type of manmade governmental system, no matter how well intentioned or well thought out, is doomed to failure. This is because we are not designed to be able to rule ourselves (Jeremiah 10:23), that is the bottom line, and that is why ultimately we should look to god's kingdom as the only long term solution to our problems. The state of the world right now is evidence that soon that kingdom will step in and take effect.

This is a terrific question. The answer to a world government is that most countries feel it would be a great idea, if they were in charge. The United Nations doesn't work, because all the petty dictators, have their own agendas. Unfortunately the United States seems to have become the world's cops. No one likes a cop, unless they are in trouble. Then afterwards they resent the cops, for helping them out, as it shows their own inadequacies.

Nationalism. Only one step away from Fascism. Basically, government heads do not want to sacrifice their power and privelege. Too much greed in the world. Capitalism is ruining everything. The US is ignoring the UN at every corner, and thinks resistence forces against US occupation is terrorism.

Let me ask this, then. Would you feel comfortable knowing there was one global leader? Judging from those who are battleing for that position now, Mars is looking better and better.

Who would claim ownership of the entire world? The US, god save us all. Then the world would be run by Starbucks, or worse yet, Disney. I could handle it if the world was run by Yahoo, though. I digress.

I wouldn't feel comfortable with one person running the whole show. It's creepy and disturbing.
