which internet speed [kbps] is required for proper functioning of web camera?

I think the answer is 256 kb/ps. because i hav a 256kb/ps and i can oprate my cam at a very good condition. but i dont know the correct actual speed.

You can use it with all speeds.The faster the speed the less stalling there is and makes movement look more natural.
