My husband and I are thinking of traveling to Whistler-Blackcomb for the first week of December. Is it likely that all runs will be open at this time? Any advice? I'm a blue-black skier...hubby can ski the black with no problem.

I just returned from Whistler last week. It was absolutely beautiful up there this time of year... Anyway, the locals seem to think the mountain will be fully open mid-late November. They opened on the 6th (Nov) last year and they were all giddy about that, but they said the norm is 18NOV or so. I can't speak to the difficulty of the mountain but the lift had a sign that said something to the effect of "Runs Available for all Experience Levels."

You'll have a great time; I wish I could go back!!!!!

i might hit Fernie. Whistler is super in spite of the undeniable fact that it does rain lots because it quite is rather coastal, regardless of season. in spite of the undeniable fact that via the time this rain gets everywhere close to Fernie, it has often dried up giving you extra using time - despite if on skis or bike.

No one can predict the weather and in recent years it has been pretty whacky. Good luck - you will love it no matter what.
We are home sick for our BC mountains and related activities, but trying hard to enjoy the sea while here :0)
