in the midst of globalization...what does America have to offer?

we have outsourced so much...between nafta and china....do we produce anything? , even better do we actually EXPORT anything?( sure we export some....but is that enough to sustain the US in years to come)? Re: education....we are falling behind rest of the world. college grads who can't write a decent paper and some can't even tell you who our VP is.....we import just about everything we use...and boy do we USE.....we consume far more than any other country.

We've depleted most of our natural resources(yes...we have a bit of oil and gas, but oil and gas isn't infinite...and like I have already said....we consume so much...so our pitiful supply wouldn't last too long).

the tech industry may be strong now...but China,Japan and India will soon surpass us, they have so much cheap labor...and China is moving from cheap plastic goods into lowtech.....how long will it be before our pc and what not are all made in China

So what do we(the US ) have to offer the world?

Now, while this Iraq/terror thing is happening....do you think it would be fair to say the the US has made the world safer?...or has our actions made the world a bit unstable?

So, with all this said....what is America offering the world?..will our status as a super power diminish in years to come?

America offers the world a model for freedom. It models a society where:
1.A person can openly criticize the government in power without fear for their life.
2.It is a land where you can be a Christian, Jew, Moslem, Atheist, Buddhist, or whatever.
3.A person can be a Republican, Democrat, Socialist, Communist, Independent or whatever they want to be.
4.It is a place that provides schools, medical care, and social services at no cost to million of illegal aliens.
5.It is country that has sacrificed its young men to defend its allies from their enemies.
6.It is a country where you can vote against the people in office that you don’t like.
7.Despite the picture that Hollywood paints, most Americans live in safety.
8. It is a place where citizens have a right to a fair trial—although this right has been weakened by agency law like the IRS, EPA, FED, and others.
9. It is the land of greatest opportunity. You don’t have to be born rich to be successful. Bill Gates the richest man in America was not born rich. NO where else in the world even comes close in opportunity.
10. There are thousands more…

I have visited dozens of other countries and there is no country where I feel safer and/or have the same level of freedom. I am always glad when I am back home in America—there is no other place on earth equal to it in freedom and opportunity.

We are a huge exporter of food. From the family farms that this country is trying to exterminate. My friend just lost his family farm. He couldn't come up with the $750,000 inheritance tax that was levied after his father died. With the over valued price of realestate the IRS figured the land to be worth far more than the banks did. No bank would give him a loan to cover the taxes.

The US is also very rich in oil. Our policy has been to import as much as we can to use up the worlds supply first.

You're right. It's probably going to get worse as more people realise that they are faced with diminishing expectations. On the other hand, there is a possibility for hope. As the rising cost of shipping goods over long distances increases and the real capacity of people to buy those goods diminishes, there is a real opportunity for people to realise that the real strength is in community and local employment. Maybe people will realise that and throw off the corporate yoke.

Sounds pretty bleak. You might want to look around and see who is building America. Do we build all those houses and shopping centers and highways in China and ship them over? NO. We are increasingly providing a place for the rest of the world to come and work. Our laws and constitution make this a safe place to live, and people are attracted to that. There are very few death squads and private armies here. Most people's worries are based on inflation. Is that what's bothering you?

The only thing America could offer the world that would make them realize we had gotten back on the right track would be:

Sending the entire Bush administration to International War Crimes court after we've impeached the whole cabinet.

Nothing but the incompetency and insolence of the Bush administration. Once Bush and his highest-ranking cabinet members face their impeachments, they will be sent to The Hague and stand trial for various war crimes. Then they will spend the rest of their lives in HELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When there's a problem in their country, who do the others look to? Hmm? Can't hear you? That's right, they ask the USA for money! Read a history book already.

Nothing, all self appointed "superpowers" fall. Maybe getting a more intelligent and humble president will help?
