Not anytime soon--at least not in time for the holidays. The 360 already holds an advantage over the PS3 by being at a lower price point, albeit by not including a high definition movie player, not to mention being out on the market a year earlier to build a user base who would now be far more tempted to get that add-on HD-DVD for $200 than to get an all-new PS3 console for $600.
So there's no incentive, for now, for Microsoft to start lowering the price for the 360, especially since they're already selling the console at a loss. My guess is that it depends on the success of the PS3--if the PS3 does well, Microsoft might be motivated to lower the price to make the 360 more appealing; if not, then Microsoft would probably consider hanging on to a price that is less of a loss. That being said, it would be hard to gauge the PS3's real popularity based on holiday sales alone (especially since it's going to be out in limited quantities)...it needs to be out a while before it's recognized as a failure or a success. So I'd say it may well be next summer before Microsoft even thinks about changing the price.

Well, everyone might think, in November, 2006, when the Wii and PS3, get released. I doubt it. The X Box 360 will still be competitively priced when they are released. Also, historically, a price drop for consoles rarely happens the first year of release, and certainly not in the middle of a major Holiday Season.
My prediction is the first price drop will be mid 2007, probably around June or July. I predict no more than an $80 price drop.
