I watched a segment on TV where an actor stuttered until he was in his twenties. He cured himself, without medication. I do not think there is medication for stuttering. But, you should write to this man and find out how he cured himself. I do not know his real name, but you could email him at the show's website. He is an actor on "All My Children" on ABC and plays the part of "Jack," Erkika's husband. Also, Jimmy Stuart (the actor) stuttered very badly except when he was acting (reading his script). So, you can learn to control stuttering and it is worth writing to these people and find out how they learned to control stuttering. Jimmy Stuart passed away, but you could probably write to his surviving family.

The root cause of stammering is really due to lack of self confidence. There is no medicine that I know of, for improving self confidence.

But, speech therapist who are professionals at this can help you. It is not so uncommon to cure stammers. That should be your first place to stop and consult. Your physician can recommend one.

If you want to practise, and you want to do it yourself (not recommended) start speaking very slowly, I mean very s-l-o-w-l-y. There are tapes available at the library that you can borrow and play and practise along with the practise tapes.

Take heart, there is plenty of help available for people who have speech problem.

Good luck.

Best way of curing stammering is to seek help from a speech therapist. It might not go away completely but it will definately be reduced by a significant ammount.

No, but a speech pathologist and psychologist can do wonders.I have personally had a friend who could barely speak a sentence without stammer, but is now nearly cured.

No.

Stammering can be helped by a speech therapist, or if the person takes some initiative and is strong on their own, learns good speaking and emotional skills, they can learn to stop it.

Rainbow meditaion and breathing exercizes//

Lay down and surround yourself with white light/you are safe, protected it is like a bubble that protects you. Breath Red. The white bubble becomes red, you can imagine walking on a red path.. Then your bubble starts floating up and when you land ona higher place you end up on an orange path, then yellow, then green, blue, indigo (blue jeans blue) and violet/white..

If you take the time to do this everyday it will rerally help you. It maybe easier to get some meditaion tapes or have someone tell thesory of safe bubbles in which you float up and walking on coloured paths...

Colour breathing helps. Also you can breath combis of two colours and you could find out which two clours are giving you trouble and do them more. (it is often orange and blue)

This English girl found a very good solution in the states. She had a very severe stammer, but is now much more fluent.
