My daughter used to be like clockwork. One stool a day, same time of day. Then she was constipated for 4 days. On day 4, she went. She was back on schedule for 4-5 days. Then she got diarrhea mixed in with regular stools for 2 days. Now the diarhea is gone, but she poops 2-4 times a day. It doesn't seem to bug her, but I'm worried that she'll lose weight.
This has been going on for 4 days now. Her stools are normal, just frequent. I plan on calling a Dr. on Monday, but for now, should I worry? Where can I find information? I went online to find info on "frequent stools in babies" and there's only information on diarrhea.
Thanks

Is she teething? My son pooped more when he was getting his teeth, and sometimes he would get diarrhea when he was getting more than one tooth in. This is the only time he ever gets any kind of diaper rash.

My daughter is 7 months old and she poops 2-4 times a day every day. Their systems change all the time I really don't think that you have anything to worry about. As long as she is having normal bowel movements and they are of normal color and size things are fine.

First question... has her eating stayed the same or do she eat more or less. If she is eating more, than it is just her body purging what she does not need, if she is eating less I might call the pedeatrician. BUt normal is 2 -4 times a day. I would not worry too much.

Have you changed her diet any lately? Added more table foods or juices. This can cause her stool frequency to change. Also if she was on any meds b/c she had the diarrhea that could also be causing the frequency.

calling the doctor on Monday is good... I don't think you should worry as long as she's not getting dehydrated and eating well. as babies become more active they will loose some of their baby fat, but having regular stools will not cause weight loss.

it could just be that differnt food is affecting her. Or teething could cause more poops.

take her to the doctor its the best thing, it could be something else wrong, maybe her diet.
