Don't want to know what everyone personally thinks is best or want lists of movies, just the one that is considered top by critics and public as a whole.

I'd have to say The Lion King. The public absolutely fell in love with this movie from the start, as it is the highest grossing movie using traditional animation.

As for the critical acclaim: It went on to win two Academy Awards: Best Original Score and Best Original Song ("Can You Feel the Love Tonight"). Besides winning the same two categories in the Golden Globe Awards, it also won Best Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy. In the Annie Awards, it won Best Animated Film, Best Individual Achievement for Story Contribution in the Field of Animation, and Jeremy Irons also won Best Achievement for Voice Acting for voicing Scar.

I reckon it's gotta be Lion King. Or Toy Story? Nah, as overall critical and public aclaim I'd still bet on Lion King. It won so many awards for every aspect. It was groundbreaking but still within that wonderful time of drawn animation.

But this is just a guess. I'd be interested to know which one. Maybe even Snow White in it's own day.

I would have to say Snow White. It was the first feature length animated movie ever, very beautifully drawn, and the first use of the multiplane camera. It won an Oscar and the Academy made seven special little Oscars to represent the dwarves.

Most critics will tell you that it is the Lion King because it revolutionised disney in the way in which it appealed to both kids and adults and most critics will agree with this.
