My nan loves doing jigsaws, but in the last couple of years she has been diagnosed with dimentia. It's not too bad at the moment, but she has been struggling with the 1000 piece jigsaws. Do you know if they sell jigsaws for the elderly? If so do you know of a website?

Oh God, my aunt and grandma are going through dementia. I'd scale down the pieces to 500, 250, or even 100. That's if you can't find a puzzle with bigger pieces. (Can't help you on that but I'd love to know!) And nothing with cartoons, unless brighter colors intrigue her. I hate treating them like a child unless that's the only way to get through sometimes.

I hope this somewhat helps, and hope your nan is doing OK.

Places like ToysRUs, Hallmark, Target, Walmart, etc all have jigsaw puzzles. And there is a wide range that are under 1000 pieces.

Just type in jigsaw puzzles in your search and there should be a wide variety of sites to choose from. There should be several puzzle choices for "Large piece puzzles" I think they are 100-500 piece puzzles.

I like picking from because they have nearly every puzzle you can think of. They even have a section on the right column for EZ Grip jumbo puzzles that has extra large piece puzzles. My grandma has dementia and she enjoys the puzzles that remind her of events from her younger years. Hope it helps!

If you are from the UK. there is a company that makes a jog saw puzzle of the map of your local area. If she still understands the locations where she lives, she may like that.

Otherwise, try cartoon pictures. The consistency of colouring (consistent red for example) makes the shapes easier to work out.
