advice on leotards and unitards?

forgive my ignorance i hope it isnt too much of a private question but when leotards is underwear worn. also with unitards are they designed to protect your privates in the way leotards do or are they more like normal trousers but designed to cover the whole body

first off, you need a DANCE BELT!!(it might be a little uncomfortable at first) but that is what protects your private part leotards might give you a little more support, but usually a male dancer will wear either a biker-tard or a unitard.....not a leotard(but that's usually)-- if you DO decide to get a leotard make sure it;s either unisex or made for males.

(& the dance belt will be sub for underwear)---you don't have to watch any movies but if you want the best one would be Center Stage.....it will show you more of what males wear

Leotards and unitards would be a little tight in the front for a gentlman's use. They look much better on women... and if you can't tell whether or not underwear is worn beneath them, well, that's a rather stimulating mystery. Perhaps you know a certain dancer you might ask, but I'd imagine that it varies, and that if you have to ask, there's no reason for you to know.

OK, it looks like not a single male dancer have answered your question so far. You'll get a better answer from a male dancer. Do whatever is comfortable for practice, do whatever looks good and reasonably comfortable for a performance. I don't think there are specific requirements. People do whatever works for them. Try it at home first.

WT*!! they are used to wear when you do dance of gymnastics, but mostly in gymnastics dancers wear shorts of sweatpants over them. Watch stick it, and youll see lots of leotards pevert!

Ok you should get some help......but first dont watch the movie stick it watch the movie Step Up..... it talks more about dancing then gymnastics.......
