Seems the media brought up immigration and now has dropped the subject .We also do not get alot of war coverage anymore since the civil war began . Why is the media able to whip people into such a frezy about so many issues and then nothing is done to solve them .

Yes. Most Americans seem to be Attention Deficit, just waiting for the next sound byte to tell them what to feel and what to believe.

The media is busy bashing Republicans right now with elections coming up. I expect immigration to come to the forefront again afterwards. The media doesn't cover anything about the war unless it's a bombing. Why don't we get the opportunity to hear the good news of over 17,000 reconstruction projects that have been completed in Iraq, or the schools and hospitals that have been opened, or the expansion of business and increased wages? The building of a free country is GOOD news. Something the media seems to run from.

America is mostly a country of the unbelievably stupid, naive and ignorant.

However, it has become rich and powerful because of a land rich in natural resources (taken with much bloodshed from the natives) and because of a small minority of brilliant scientists and intellectuals who are held in contempt by the majority who take advantage of their achievements.

America has been so provably wrong on so many issues it is absurd and they are too stupid to see it.

1. They now talk about solving the problems of the Middle East after voting in a president who initially said the rest of the world didn't matter to Americans (and wanted to pull out of the Palestinian/Israeli peace process- the Palestinian situation being a prime recruiting sergeant for terrorists)

2. They ignored the rest of the world who warned that they should take stock and plan before invading Iraq (and many of these supported eventual military action.

3. They said they don't believe in Global Warming (the fact that they would ignore their own Academy of Science shows how anti-intellectual they are).

The majority are, yes.
The media(commercials, newspapers, magazines, etc.) tell us what we should be wearing, eating, and thinking, and so many people accept it as law without checking it out first. The media has "tricked-out" this assembly-line image that we are SUPPOSED to live up to in order to make you buy their products and follow their lead.

Anything for ratings. Who cares about facts.

I don't know where you live, but in San Diego, immigration is alive and well in the media.
