how do i get the wallpaper pic to show where the desktop icons are?

Everytime i click on "set as wallpaper" on a pic i can only see the pic when the 'puter's shutting down, but never as the background where the icons are as was the case in the past. any ideas? thank you.

Maybe you should go through the "preferences" menu. Right click on your desktop, look at the last option on the tool tip, it should say preferences. Once the prefernces window comes up, go to the desktop tab. You should see a list of pictures to choose from. If the desired picture is not in the list, the is a browse button on the right. Click on it to manually find the picture. Once you have the picture highlighted, click either OK or APPLY. Hope this works
